About Maritima
Maritima was born from a simple truth: the right music doesn’t just support a project, it carries its emotional weight. It can express the care, effort, and love behind a creation without a single word. We recognize that power, and with every project, we aim to honor the responsibility it brings.
We are a composer duo based in Mumbai that have worked in spaces like documentaries and podcasts, and so we understand that different mediums call for different musical approaches. Whether it’s a background score, a theme song, or a jingle, we tailor our compositions to suit the tone, format, and emotional arc of your project.
Our musical arsenal includes guitars, keys, vocals, synths, and genre-fluid experimentation, drawing from electronica, jazz, rock, orchestral, pop, and more. Documentary
Instrumental piece for the upcoming documentary by the Centre for Intercultural Studies and Dialogue (CISD), MAHE, on Kambala, a traditional bull-racing sport of southern Karnataka. The composition draws from the percussive musical roots of Kambala while reflecting its evolving, contemporary spirit.
Podcast
Intro and outro themes for the All Things Culture podcast, which explores the hidden and mysterious corners of culture. The music blends arpeggiated synths to evoke intrigue, layered with punchy electronic drums and bass to keep the energy up and running.
Others
An unpublished instrumental that explores our other possibilities. A blend of Middle Eastern sounding melodies and orchestral arrangements over the spaced-out canvas of electronica, before morphing into a sludgy, rock coda.
